The Islanders get the first chance to notch their first victory of the season, taking on the Oilers on Thursday. San Jose follows Friday against Utah. The net goal differential for each of the two squads is a minus-six, though the Sharks have outscored the Isles 10 to seven.

San Jose has the more exciting team to watch, headed by Macklin Celebrini while New York should be the better defensive squad with Ilya Sorokin between the pipes. Neither were expected to head the Gavin McKenna sweepstakes, but the Sharks have two points having notched a pair of overtime losses.
