Mika Zibanejad fell from 72 to 62 points, and that decline doesn’t come close to describing how poor of a season he had. His 62 points was the lowest he posted in a full season since the 2017-18 campaign, his second season in New York. If there was any silver lining, Zibanejad scored 33 points after J.T. Miller arrived on the scene and Zib switched from center to wing.
New coach Mike Sullivan made a point of visiting Zibanejad in Sweden and all signs point to him opening 2025-26 on the wing. If he remains on a line with Miller, a return to 70+ points could be in the offing.
