On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.
Seamus Casey, NJ @ COL (1% rostered)
Casey opened the season with the Devils, filling in on defense while the team was thin on the blueline. He posted three goals, one assist, six shots on net, seven blocked shots and four hits in eight appearances before he was sent down to Utica of the AHL. Casey missed two months with a wrist injury in the minors but was highly productive when healthy, notching 15 points in 22 games. He scored a goal in his first appearance back in the NHL on Sunday, filling in for the injured Jonas Siegenthaler.
Brandt Clarke, LA vs. VAN (32% rostered)
The return of Drew Doughty cost Clarke a spot on the blueline. Necessity being the mother of invention, Clarke shifted to right wing, giving the Kings an 11/7 deployment. Eventually the return of both Doughty and Mikey Anderson will cost Clarke a spot in the active roster. But as long as he dresses, and qualifies at defense, even though he may be filling a forward spot, Clarke is worth a roster spot, especially on a night when there is only three contests.
