There are no shortage of surprises every season. Fortune (tends to) favor the bold, and fantasy managers who went after players who were overlooked for whatever reason reaped huge dividends.
Among goalies, zero-G managers hit it big with the Kings' Cam Talbot. The Wings' Alex Lyon and Coyotes' Connor Ingram were not drafted in the vast majority of leagues but have become starters for their respective teams.
Among defensemen, the Habs' Mike Matheson continues to do it all, while the Canucks' Filip Hronek has really benefited from playing with Quinn Hughes. Jake Sanderson has also shined for the Sens even though captain Thomas Chabot and Jakob Chychrun have more name recognition.
The Ducks' Frank Vatrano, Isles' Brock Nelson and Sabres' Casey Mittelstadt highlight three of the best bargain-bin forwards so far this season.
