Which Series Excites You Most?

The matchups are set.  In the West: Avalanche vs. KingsStars vs. WildGolden Knights vs. MammothOilers vs. Ducks In the East: Sabres vs. BruinsLightning vs. CanadiensHurricanes vs. SenatorsPenguins vs. Flyers The Stars and Wild renew their rivalry in a fated matchup many expected to happen over the course of the season when it became clear the Avs were going to win the division. The Mammoth should have a raucous home crowd with their first ever postseason berth.  The Lightning and Canadiens meet each other in a rematch of the 2021 Stanley Cup Finals with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield now bona fide superstars and ready to lead their club to new heights. Meanwhile, the Lightning's veteran core with plenty of winning experience will try to climb back up to the top of the mountain after disappointments in the past few seasons.  The Pens and Flyers renew their rivalry that needs no introduction. Can the Pens' aging core capture another title in what may be their last chance? Fantasy Hockey Season In Review

As the 2025-26 season wraps up, there has been no shortage of surprises. From ill-fated trades between the Canucks and Rangers to the Leafs' sudden collapse, it's been a difficult fantasy hockey season for managers to navigate, to say the least.  There were positives, though. Macklin Celebrini cemented himself as an elite player despite just being a teenager. Matthew Schaefer, too.  Darren Raddysh was one of the most valuable waiver-wire pickups, and Jet Greaves established himself as a capable NHL-caliber starter.  Sound off in the comments below: How did your fantasy hockey season go? Habs-Lightning Or Pens-Flyers?

While the Stars-Wild matchup in the West has drawn tons of attention, the Eastern Conference has highlighted a few matchups of their own that are certainly worth paying attention to.  First, with the Sabres winning the division title, the Habs and Lightning are now locked in for a first-round matchup. It's their first meeting in the playoffs since the 2021 Stanley Cup Final. If their April 9 barnburner was any indication, this series will feature plenty of highlight-reel goals and dust-ups.  The Battle of Pennsylvania doesn't need any introduction, and it'll be a treat to see the Pens and Flyers face off in the playoffs for the first time since 2018. They've met each other four times in the cap era with the Pens holding a 3-1 edge in the overall series.  Which playoff series are you most excited for? Will The Kraken Finally Rise From The Depths?

The Kraken announced Wednesday that Ron Francis will be stepping away from the team at the end of the season. Truthfully, it's been a long time coming for an expansion franchise that came into the league with considerable hype that they never managed to capture. First, there was the botched expansion draft where the Kraken failed to maximize value and make any trades, as the Golden Knights did in their inaugural draft. There were middling free agents and a weird fascination with middle-six wingers, and underachieving results from top picks Matty Beniers and Shane Wright, both of whom were seen as potential franchise cornerstones at the time of their draft. Asides from a first-round upset against the Avalanche, there have been few bright spots in the Kraken's short history. Presumably, Francis and his more conservative methods are out the window, and the Kraken will try to be more aggressive in icing a more competitive team.  With rumors of a potential NBA team coming back to Seattle, it's possible the Kraken gets pushed even further down the totem pole in a city that will eventually have teams in all four major leagues.  But how long will it take? Stars And Wild Locked In For Round One - Who Wins?

With the Avs clinching the best record in the conference and the Mammoth mathematically eliminated from finishing in the top three in the Central, the Stars and Wild will meet each other in the first round of the playoffs. We all knew this was coming considering how the Avs pulled away for much of the season, and the Stars and Wild clearly the two best teams after them. The only thing left to determine is home-ice advantage. There will be outcry for the NHL to change the playoff format so two of its top contenders will avoid each other in the opening round, but there's no appetite to change, so it's fait accompli. Could this be the best matchup of the playoffs? Who do you think will win?
