It’s been a fun few days in Finland for the Stanley Cup.

So far, we’ve seen hometown visits with Florida Panthers defenseman Niko Mikkola, assistant coach Tuomo Ruutu and team captain Sasha Barkov.

On Sunday, another Finnish Florida player took his turn with Lord Stanley’s Cup.

Lundell took the Cup to the great outdoors, enjoying some time on the water, one of his favorite places to be and where he spent much of his childhood.

“It’s very special to me, my family’s summer home,” Lundell said. “We brought the Cup here with a quick boat ride and I enjoyed the company of my friends and my family.”

While out in the wilderness, Lundell ate some Finnish salmon soup out of the top of the Cup after enjoying some sauna and some swimming.

For what looked an extremely fun visit with fans, Lundell brought the Stanley Cup to Linnanmäki Amusement Park in Helsinki.

“I think every Finnish person has probably been in Linnanmäki at some point in their life,” he said. “It’s Finland’s Disney World. It’s a very unique spot.”

Speaking of unique, while visiting the park, Lundell was given approval to take the Cup on a roller coaster.

Overall, the 23-year-old two-time champion echoed a similar sentiment to what we’ve heard from others, that after a fast-paced, frantic first day with the Stanley Cup last summer, this year he was able to slow things down a bit.

“I want to try and enjoy my time with the Cup a little more,” he said. “Last year I feel like I was running everywhere and showing the Cup to everyone, and I’m still going to show the cup to everyone who wants to see it, but I’m also taking the Cup to a quiet place, like my summer home.”
