The Florida Panthers hold a full team practice at the Baptist Health IcePlex in Fort Lauderdale on Jan. 14. The Florida Panthers will be looking to bounce back from a frustrating defeat when they host a special Monday afternoon matinee at Amerant Bank Arena. Florida saw its nine-game winning streak snapped at the hands of the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night thanks to a standout effort by goaltender Nico Daws. In town to face the Cats are their expansion partners from out west, the Anaheim Ducks. It’s been a tough year for Anaheim, who come into the game with a 14-27-1 record. Their 29 points are the third fewest in the NHL, ahead of only Chicago and San Jose. One of the bright spots for the Ducks is someone who will be a familiar face to Florida fans. Former Panther Frank Vatrano is going to the NHL All-Star Game. He’s up to 21 goals on the season and comes into Saturday’s battle in Sunrise with a goal in three consecutive games. Afterwards, Panthers Head Coach Paul Maurce indicated that whatever kept Kulikov off the ice wasn’t anything serious, but that his status for Monday’s game was TBD. “He’s doing okay,” Maurice said. “He’ll be a game-timer tomorrow.” If Kulikov can’t go, look for Josh Mahura to slide back into the lineup for the first time since Dec. 16. In goal, Florida is expected to go with Anthony Stolarz, according to George Richards of Florida Hockey Now. Stolarz has won each of his past two starts and enters Monday’s game with a 6-3-1 record, a strong .923 save percentage and a very tidy 1.95 goals against average. Here are the Panthers projected lines and pairings for Monday’s matinee with the Ducks: Evan Rodrigues – Sasha Barkov – Sam Reinhart Carter Verhaeghe – Sam Bennett – Matthew Tkachuk Eetu Luostarinen – Anton Lundell – Ryan Lomberg Jonah Gadjovich – Kevin Stenlund – Will Lockwood Gus Forsling – Aaron Ekblad Niko Mikkola – Brandon Montour Oliver Ekman-Larsson – Dmitry Kulikov LATEST STORIES FROM THE HOCKEY NEWS - FLORIDA ‘It’s a big deal for me’: Sergei Bobrovsky relishes being voted into NHL All-Star Game [https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/florida-panthers/features/its-a-big-deal-for-me-sergei-bobrovsky-relishes-being-voted-into-nhl-all-star-game] Three takeaways: A hot goalie and missed opportunities haunt Panthers in loss to New Jersey [https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/florida-panthers/features/three-takeaways-a-hot-goalie-and-missed-opportunities-haunt-panthers-in-loss-to-new-jersey] Daws, Devils stymie hot Panthers offense 4-1 in Sunrise [https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/florida-panthers/latest-news/daws-devils-stymie-hot-panthers-offense-4-1-in-sunrise] Sergei Bobrovsky heading to NHL All-Star Game in Toronto, voted in by fans [https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/florida-panthers/latest-news/sergei-bobrovsky-heading-to-nhl-all-star-game-in-toronto-voted-in-by-fans] Panthers playing with urgency amid winning streak as Tkachuk, Reinhart remain red-hot [https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/florida-panthers/features/panthers-playing-with-urgency-amid-winning-streak-as-tkachuk-reinhart-remain-red-hot] Image [https://thehockeynews.com/.image/c_fit,h_600,w_600/MjAxNjQxMjA5NjI4NzMxMDIz/unnamed.jpg]
