The Los Angeles Kings have made several changes to their organizational staff, with promotions and new hires across player performance, medical care and hockey operations.
Dr. John Meyer has been named president of player health and performance, while Jeff Andrews takes over as head athletic trainer. Andrews has been with the Kings since 2021 after previously working with the Ontario Reign. John Odgers has been promoted to director of performance and sports science, and Andre Carere moves from assistant to head performance coach. Taylor Khoury joins as assistant performance coach after two seasons with the Reign.
The Kings have also added Cassidy Papa as director of rehabilitation and Russ Romano as director of player care. Papa spent the past two seasons with the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets, while Romano joins Los Angeles after more than 30 years at USC.
On the hockey operations side, Brad Holland joins as a professional scout after previous stops with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs. Elliott Kervin has joined the analytics department following graduate studies at UNC Charlotte, while Paul Marino has been promoted to senior hockey analyst, leading amateur and AHL analysis.
Clayton Johns has been named assistant equipment manager after working with the Reign. Sean Maguire will serve as the Kings’ emergency backup goaltender after coaching at the University of New Hampshire. Steve Mastalerz, who joined the organization last season, continues as goaltender development coach and scout.
The changes span several departments, with the Kings promoting familiar faces and bringing in new experience across the organization.
