The Los Angeles Kings opened their preseason with a 4-2 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday night at Toyota Arena.
Vegas jumped out to a 2-0 lead late in the first period, but the Kings fought back in the second. Andre Lee cut the deficit in half just a minute into the period before Lane Pederson tied the game with eight minutes remaining in the third.
The tie did not last long, however, as Jackson Hallum scored two minutes later to put Vegas back in front. Hallum added an empty-net goal to seal the 4-2 victory for the Golden Knights.
The Kings will continue their preseason schedule Tuesday against the San Jose Sharks.
