The Minnesota Wild (10-12-4) rebounded Sunday night in Seattle with a 3-0 win over the Kraken (8-14-7) inside Climate Pledge Arena after dropping their past two games in Vancouver and Edmonton.

The Wild took advantage of the struggling Kraken and handed them their eight straight loss in what was a tight-checking, low-scoring contest. The Wild are now 5-2 under coach Jon Hynes.

The Wild made lineup changes ahead of the game to provide a spark and because of Jonas Brodin's week-to-week upper-body injury. The loss of Brodin is significant, and the Wild's blue line has to step up in his absence, and that's what they did Sunday night.

Matt Boldy continued his hot streak and got the Wild on the board 7:14 into the game when he fooled Joey Daccord in tight on an impressive deke.

Boldy now has six goals and eight points in his past seven games after scoring one goal and eight points in his first 12 games. Then the Wild took a 2-0 lead with seven minutes and 26 seconds left when Marco Rossi found the back of the net after Mats Zuccarello forced a turnover and passed him the puck.

Rossi now has nine goals this season, which is second in rookie scoring behind only the Blackhawks' Connor Bedard at 11. Joel Eriksson Ek's empty netter and team-leading 14th goal this season was the icing on the cake Sunday night.

    • While shot attempts were almost even (50-49), the Wild controlled 58 percent of the expected goal share at five-on-five and had the bulk of the scoring chances (30-17) and high-danger chances (11-4).

    • Filip Gustavsson made 24 saves in the win, his first shutout since Oct. 12 when he made 41 saves in the home opener. Gustavsson, who has now won four of his past five starts, saved all three high-danger shots he faced and saved 2.67 goals above expected.

    • The Wild went 0-for-2 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.

The Wild head home having earned four out of a possible eight points on the four-game road trip and are four points away from the Arizona Coyotes, who hold the second wild card spot in the West. The Wild, who have the next three days off, host the Calgary Flames on Thursday and Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.
