Wild are hoping some lineup changes will snap their two-game skid
The Wild have lost two straight games and are looking to change that up here tonight in Seattle. One way Wild head coach John Hynes wants to spark a change is with the lines.
Last game the Wild lost Jonas Brodin after Evander Kane plastered him into the boards and will be without him for a couple of weeks likely.
But changing the defensive lines wasn't the only thing Hynes is changing for tonight. Matt Boldy who has five goals in his last six games, will be on the top line tonight with Kirill Kaprizov and Joel Eriksson Ek.
This bumps Mats Zuccarello and Marco Rossi down to the second line. They will play alongside Marcus Johansson who has not scored in his last 20 games. Hopefully, a new look for Johansson will get him going because the Wild need Johansson to get going badly.
Alex Goligoski who was scratched last game, will move up to play with Jared Spurgeon. Goligoski, 38, has had a tough season so far but he really thrived well with Spurgeon two seasons ago when they were together.
Without Brodin, Brock Faber will play with Jake Middleton on the second pair. Faber and Middleton actually played a couple of games together this season when Spurgeon was out so this won't be entirely new for the two defenders.
Lastly, Dakota Mermis will stay in the Wild's lineup and play alongside Jon Merrill on the third pair. But there is a chance that Zach Bogosian will enter the lineup as he practiced this morning in Seattle. If Bogosian plays I'd imagine it will be with Mermis rather than Merrill.
