Tonight was a first for many NHL fans.

The Montreal Canadiens are in Calgary to take on the Flames and just before the puck was set to drop. The lights at the Scotiabank Saddledome went out.

After the delayed the start of the game, it was decided to start the game in the darkened arena until the lights were fixed.

So, that's what happened. The Canadiens and Flames played part of the game in the dark, without majority of the arena lights working.
