On Monday, Patrik Laine attended the funerals of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, leaving his beloved dog Boogie in Montreal with Kaiden Guhle.

As the hockey world continues to mourn the loss of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, players who did not personally know the brothers or had a chance to play with them are doing what they can for those who did.
Recently acquired star Patrik Laine was Johnny's teammate in Columbus with the Blue Jackets for two seasons.
When Laine entered the NHL's player assistance program in January 2024, Johnny offered $1,000 for every point he scored to support men's mental health.
On Monday, Laine traveled to New Jersey to attend the funeral services for both Johnny and Matthew.
Meanwhile, Laine's social media-friendly dog, Boogie, had to stay behind in Montreal.
That's when Patrik's new teammate, Kaiden Guhle, stepped up and offered to dogsit, pairing Boogie with his dog Gus.
According to Boogie's Instagram account, he got to hang out with Gus, Kaiden, and Miranda while his dad was away on a personal matter and seemed to have a good time without his "pawrents."
Since relocating to the United States to play hockey, Laine has experienced physical and mental highs and lows.
After his once-promising career started to stagnate, he needed to prioritize his mental health and well-being by stepping away from the NHL for a while.
Adding Boogie to the family appears to be one of the best moves the 26-year-old Laine has made. Besides having a friend for life, he can rely on Boogie to help him navigate the ups and downs of life with a smile every day.
Thankfully, Boogie appears ready to do his part.
