Formerly known as the Bell Sports Complex, the Montreal Canadiens practice facility in Brossard will boast a new name going forward.
In 2008, the Montreal Canadiens unveiled their new multipurpose training center located on the south shore in Brossard, QC. Bell Media was the naming sponsor at the time, and for 15 years, the building has been known as the Bell Sports Complex.
Earlier today, the Canadiens announced a new naming sponsor for their practice facility: Canada's rail transportation leader, CN. "We are proud to welcome CN as a partner of the Montreal Canadiens. CN is not only a world leader in transportation, but also an iconic Canadian company which, like the Canadiens, has been based in Montreal for over a century," said Groupe CH president, sports and entertainment, France Margaret Bélanger in the team's press release.
Tracy Robinson, President and CEO of CN, stated, "We are very proud of this new partnership with the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs are a quintessential Montreal institution and as a Montreal-based company ourselves, we wanted to contribute to our hometown in a meaningful way."
All signage at the facility will be replaced in the near future to feature the new CN partnership. Members of the CN team will be on-site at the facility on September 23rd where fans can meet them and take in the first day of Canadiens training camp. The event, coinciding with Rail Safety Week, will also give fans a chance to win a signed Nick Suzuki sweater along with other promotional items.
