They kicked off the trip with a familiar trip to Rochester, but without the services of defensemen Jayden Struble and Mattias Norlinder. Both young blueliners have joined the Montreal Canadiens in California after being recalled to the NHL. Because of those recalls, and a number of injuries on the Laval roster, ECHL callups Nolan Yaremko and Alex Olivier-Voyer remained in the lineup. Voyer actually got the scoring started in the second half of the first period when he scored with a wrister from the slot. Laval Rocket forward Joel Armia [https://thehockeynews.com/.image/c_fit,h_600,w_600/MjAyNDA2NDgwOTk1OTUxNjg0/armia-53349859401_9d233e8e31_k.jpg] Laval Rocket forward Joel Armia The Rocket took a two-goal lead when Joel Armia scored a shorthanded goal, his second in as many games, but the Amerks pulled within one before the end of the period. They would go on to even the score in the opening minutes of the middle frame, and both teams scored in the third period. That meant overtime, and both Jakub Dobes and Dustin Tokarski made equally impressive saves in the extra minutes. But a late penalty by Sean Farrell put Rochester on the man-advantage, and they capitalized with a one-timer by Jiri Kulich.
