After suffering a loss against the Penguins on Saturday night, the Rocket had an opportunity to bounce back against a team sitting in last place in the AHL. Then, after a scrum, Jared Davidson dropped the gloves with Daylan Kuefler. The scrap didn't seem to particularly spark either bench, however. Jan Mysak found himself on the wrong end of an open-ice collision as an Islanders player made his way back to the bench after serving a penalty and went immediately to the dressing room for repairs. Laval soon announced that the forward would not return to the game. Less than a minute before the first intermission, Emil Heineman opened the game's scoring with a quick shot from the slot. The Rocket maintained that slim one-goal lead for much of the remainder of the game, until Bridgeport managed to get a puck past Jakub Dobes with just about seven minutes left in regulation. Laval was fortunate to get a point out of the game, but the Islanders scored yet again in the extra minutes, leaving the Rocket with just one victory for the weekend.
