Once again, however, a recall to Montreal left the roster without a player. This time it was forward Joel Armia who was called back to the NHL. Fortunately, forwards Jared Davidson and Mitchell Stephens were ready to return to game action following their injuries, and both made their way back into the lineup. This game had a bit of an odd feel to it, where there were drawn-out periods of time where not a whole lot was happening on the ice, and then out of nowhere things would pick up the pace. The first surprise came with just one single second left on the clock in the opening period, when Rochester managed to light the lamp in thrilling buzzer-beater fashion. They also scored on the power play in the second period. In the middle frame, however, Laval managed to score two goals of their own, with Jan Mysak cleaning up a loose puck in the crease, followed by Riley Kidney scoring to tie the game. Kidney's goal was a skilled play, innocently flicking the puck through a defenders skates and beating Devin Cooley five-hole. Laval Rocket goaltender Strauss Mann [https://thehockeynews.com/.image/c_fit,h_600,w_600/MjAyNDU0MDQyMzkwMDQ1NzA4/mann-53354544650_0aa5144dc6_k.jpg] Laval Rocket goaltender Strauss Mann Neither team could beat the opposition's goaltender in the third period, and overtime didn't offer many solutions either. That is, until another buzzer beater sealed the game for Rochester. It looked like a shootout was on its way, when Isak Rosen deked around Strauss Mann with just six seconds left on the clock.
