The visitors were first on the board following a nice save by Jakub Dobes that Isak Rosen jumped on the rebound for the goal. Brandon Gignac tied the match early in the second period when he received a pass from Lias Andersson, went around the defender and deked Devon Levi. The goal extended the forward's streak to four games and totalled nine points during the sequence. The Buffalo Sabres AHL affiliate broke the tie early in the third period while being shorthanded, as Justin Richards lobbed a pass over Logan Mailloux to Brett Murray. Murray capitalized on the breakaway opportunity to give his team the lead. The home team pressed for the tying goal in the final minutes but the Dollard-Des-Ormeaux native was solid between the pipes. Mason Jobst sealed the victory in the final minute with an empty net goal. Laval heads into the All-Star break with one win in their last five matchups. On the other side of time off, a five-game road trip will be waiting for the club. With 10 healthy forwards available on the roster, it is expected that the Montreal Canadiens proceed with recalls prior to Sunday's practice in Brossard.
