First, Tobie Paquette-Bisson celebrated his 200th career AHL game by scoring his first goal since February 16th. Less than one minute later, Olivier Galipeau took a one-timer from the blue line that wound up in the back of the net. It was the defenceman's first goal since November 15th. The floodgates opened for Laval in the second period and it began 1:04 into the frame during a penalty kill. Galipeau made a pass to Brandon Gignac behind the opposition's defence. The forward used his speed to record his fourth shorthanded goal of the season and his eighth point in the last three games. Later in the period, the Rocket attacked on a three-on-one and Lias Andersson converted with a one-timer on the pass from Philippe Maillet. A little over two minutes later, Sean Farrell tapped the puck behind the red line after Logan Mailloux's blast from the point hit the crossbar. That goal ended goalie Ken Appelby's night early. The Islanders broke the shutout before the second intermission when Julien Gauthier redirected a shot from the blue line behind Jakub Dobes. Laval took advantage of the last place team in the Eastern Conference to collect two points. Bridgestone entered the night with four wins in their last five games and will be ready for the rematch.
