The Nashville Predators has signed veteran center Ryan O'Reilly to a four year, $18 million dollar deal. The 32 year was a 2009 second round draft pick by the Colorado Avalanche, spent six seasons with the Avs, three seasons with the Buffalo Sabres, before landing with the St. Louis Blues in 2018.

O'Reilly had his career best season in 2018-2019 helping the Blues win the Stanley Cup that year. His performance in 2019 won him the Con Smythe and Selke. In that championship season, O'Reilly played all 82 games and scored 28 goals and 77 points.

The Clinton, ON native was traded February 17 of this year to the Toronto Maple Leafs in a three way deal. In his 13 regular season games with the Maple Leafs, O'Reilly scored four goals and 11 points and chipped in three goals and nine points in his 11 postseason games.

With the departure of Ryan Johansen and Matt Duchene, this is a free agency move that brings a veteran presence to a young Predators' center group that includes Cody Glass, Tommy Novak, and Juuso Pärssinen.
