Nashville Predators winger Filip Forsberg was named the NHL's Second Star of the Week for the week ending Jan. 19 after leading the league with seven points (4 goals, 3 assists) to lift Nashville to a perfect week.

First, Forsberg had a goal and an assist in a 5-3 win over the Pacific Division-leading Vegas Golden Knights Jan. 14. He then scored the tying goal with 3:03 remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime in what would end up being a 3-2 shootout win over the Chicago Blackhawks Jan. 16. Forsberg's grand finale was a four-point performance (2 goals, 2 assists) in a 6-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild Jan. 18; it was his fifth career four-point performance and first since March 21, 2022, at Anaheim (2 goals, 3 assists).

Forsberg leads the Predators with 42 points (15 goals, 27 assists) through 45 games this season. He is currently riding a seven-game point streak dating back to Jan. 3, recording six goals and six assists over that span.

Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg speaks to the media following the team's 6-2 win over the Minnesota Wild at Bridgestone Arena.

After snapping a career worst 18-game goalscoring drought Jan. 7 against the Winnipeg Jets, Forsberg has goals in five consecutive games for the fourth time in his career. In Thursday's shootout win over Chicago, he became the ninth Swedish player in NHL history to score 300 career goals; he also became the third-fastest Swede to reach the milestone (742 games played). Additionally, his power play goal in the first period against Minnesota was the 81st of his career, setting a new Predators franchise record.

Forsberg will look to extend his point streak to eight games Tuesday when the Predators conclude a five-game homestand against the San Jose Sharks at 7 p.m. CT at Bridgestone Arena.
