After a disastrous outing Thursday against the Minnesota Wild, the Predators liked their response against the New York Rangers yesterday but were left disappointed in the result.
The Nashville Predators moved to 11-12 after Saturday's 4-3 loss to the New York Rangers, but the game brought out mixed feelings for the team and head coach. The Predators needed a strong bounce back performance after Thursday night's 6-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild, and Roman Josi felt they did that against one of the top teams in the league on Saturday.
"Obviously you don't want to lose that game, and I thought we played pretty well," Josi said after the loss. "We probably deserved to win."
"We wanted to show a reaction tonight after the last game. Like I said, [the Rangers] are the best team in the league, and I thought we played well," Josi said.
"I thought actually we were the better team tonight."

Ryan O'Reilly agreed that the team responded better but he too was disappointed in the outcome.
"That was night and day from Thursday's game for sure," O'Reilly said.
"It's unfortunate because I thought everyone worked tonight. We had a great start. Guys did some really good things - blocking shots and competing. Lanks [Kevin Lankinen] was great tonight."
Head coach Andrew Brunette echoed the same sentiment.
"This is a group that can play with anybody especially when we do the right things, kind of like we did tonight," Brunette said. "Unfortunately we didn't find a way to get that fourth one."
The Predators don't have time to dwell on the loss as they take on the Buffalo Sabres tonight in the second game of Nashville's first back to back of the season.
