The Nashville Predators are trading goaltending prospect Yaroslav Askarov to the San Jose Sharks, as first reported by Sportsnet NHL insider Elliotte Friedman. The trade comes on the heels of reports this week that Askarov, the No. 11 overall pick in 2020, had requested a trade and informed the Predators that he would not report to their AHL affiliate in Milwaukee if assigned there. Askarov, 22, has a 1-1-0 record with a .914 save percentage in three NHL games from 2023-24. He has played in 92 career games for the AHL's Admirals, going 56-29-6 with a .911 save percentage.
