According to a report from Sportsnet NHL insider Elliotte Friedman [https://x.com/FriedgeHNIC/status/1823457509010481383] Tuesday afternoon, the Nashville Predators are trading center Cody Glass to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Chris Johnston reported that sending Glass to Pittsburgh cost the team a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 sixth-round pick. The Predators acquired Jordan Frasca in return. Glass, who arrived in Nashville via trade from the Vegas Golden Knights in 2021, has one year remaining on his two-year, $5 million contract. His best season came in 2022-23, when he recorded 14 goals and 21 assists in 72 games with the Predators. He failed to build on that success during an injury-riddled 2023-24 season, however, when he managed just 13 points in 41 games. Nashville Predators forward Cody Glass speaks to the media following the conclusion of the 2023-24 season. Trading Glass creates $2.5 million of much-needed salary cap space for the Predators, who went on a spending spree when free agency opened July 1 and signed Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault, Brady Skjei, among others. The Predators are in a much better position cap-wise now.
