This Devils goalie is heading back to the AHL.

The New Jersey Devils have announced that goaltender Isaac Poulter has been assigned to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Utica Comets.

The Devils recalled Poulter from Utica back on Jan. 24. The 23-year-old served as Jake Allen's backup for the Devils' last three games and did not make an appearance. As a result, Poulter still has not made his NHL debut.

Poulter will now look to make an impact with the Comets following his demotion. In 19 appearances this season with the AHL squad, he has an 8-7-3 record, a .897 save percentage, and a 2.90 goals-against average. He also has a .960 save percentage in each of his last three starts with the Comets.
