The New Jersey Devils boast a roster made up of players from all over the world. From Canada to Slovakia, the team’s makeup highlights its international reach.

    Current roster breakdown:

    • Canada – 37.5%
    • United States – 20.8%
    • Switzerland – 12.5%
    • Russia – 8.3%
    • Sweden – 8.3%
    • Czechia – 4.2%
    • Finland – 4.2%
    • Slovakia – 4.2%

Throughout franchise history, 15 different nations have been represented in Newark. Below is a ranking of the highest point-scorer from each country in Devils history:

Czechia – Patrik Elias The Devils’ all-time franchise leader, Elias recorded 1,025 points over 20 seasons after being drafted 51st overall in 1994. He holds the team records for points, goals, and assists in the regular season. League-wide, Elias ranks second all-time in points among NHL players born in Czechia.

Canada – John MacLean In 14 seasons with New Jersey, MacLean tallied 701 points. While he ranks first among Canadian Devils, his country’s overall record holder is the incomparable Wayne Gretzky, whose 2,857 career points remain untouchable.

United States – Scott Gomez Gomez tops the American-born Devils list with 484 points across seven seasons.

Sweden – Jesper Bratt Still active with New Jersey, Bratt has 447 points and counting. At just 27 years old, the skilled winger is well-positioned to climb higher on the Devils’ all-time scoring charts.

Switzerland – Nico Hischier The Devils’ 26-year-old captain has 442 points to date, the most by a Swiss player in franchise history. Like Bratt, his career trajectory suggests plenty of room to rise further.

    Other nations represented:

    • Russia – Sergei Brylin, 308 points
    • Lithuania – Dainius Zubrus, 224 points
    • Slovakia – Peter Šťastný, 173 points
    • Belarus – Yegor Sharangovich, 106 points
    • Finland – Erik Haula, 97 points
    • Germany – Uli Hiemer, 73 points
    • Poland – Krzysztof Oliwa, 33 points
    • Ukraine – Alexei Ponikarovsky, 25 points
    • Austria – Michael Grabner, 5 points
    • France – Yohann Auvitu, 4 points

It’s striking to see names like Michael Grabner or Yohann Auvitu on this list while players such as Jack Hughes, already one of the Devils’ brightest stars, don’t appear. That contrast highlights the unique and global nature of New Jersey’s history of point leaders by country.
