The New York Islanders have announced that their first overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, Matthew Schaefer has made the opening roster.

Mathieu Darche spoke on their top prospect and said this:

"He had a great camp. I mean, you saw it all -- his skating abilities, but just the way overall he's conducted himself in practice, the way he works in practice, the way he played in those games, and he got better as camp went on."

How well do you think he will do this season? I think he will win rookie of the year and beat out Montreal Canadiens' Ivan Demidov.
