Maxim Shabanov has been the biggest standout so far at rookie camp, outside of Matthew Schaefer, of course.
While he might not be the biggest player, standing at just 5’9, weighing 167 pounds, he has an impressive set of hands. But his best skill set may be his raw speed.
Who knows what his role will be once he makes the NHL roster, but a guy like that alongside a Mathew Barzal — anyone with speed — will be a tough task for any opponent.
Following Day Two of Rookie Camp, we were able to speak to Shabanov through a translator, prospect Gleb Veremyev.
