New York Islanders rookie defenseman Matthew Schaefer continues to take over the hockey world.

In last night's victory over the Vegas Golden Knights, he scored a power play goal and recorded the primary assist on Mathew Barzal's game-tying goal with the net empty.

The two points saw him surge past Ivan Demidov for first place among rookies in scoring.
