Islanders Not Trading Kyle Palmieri Ahead Of Trade Deadline; Working On Extension

Sources can confirm reports that the New York Islanders will not be trading forward Kyle Palmieri ahead of Friday's 3 PM Trade Deadline.

The 34-year-old has 20 goals with 21 assists for 41 points and has impressed under head coach Patrick Roy.

His 39 goals since head coach Patrick Roy walked in the door on Jan. 20, rank ninth amongst NHL right-wingers.

The belief, especially given the seller's market, is that this will be a team-friendly deal for the Islanders.

Palmieri is in the final season of a four-year deal worth $20 million.

A comparable extension for Palmieri could be around what Jordan Eberle got with the Seattle Kraken for two years at $4.75 million annually.
