
New York Islanders forward Brock Nelson will play for Team USA for the second time in his career.
On Sunday morning, Team USA released their roster for the upcoming Men’s World Championships in Czechia.
New York Islanders forward Brock Nelson, who reached the 30-goal mark for a third-straight season, leading the team with 34 goals, has made the roster:
This will be his first time representing USA as an NHL player.
Nelson, a native of Warroad, Minnesota won Bronze at the 2011 World Junior Championships, hosted by the United States, earning an assist in six games.
He also represented Team USA four times at the World Championships, with 16 goals and 12 assists in 32 total games, winning Bronze in 2015.
Back in 2017, he wore an “A” for his country.
He’ll wear the “A” again, with Team USA announcing on Thursday that Nelson, Chicago Blackhawks’ Seth Jones and Columbus Blue Jackets’ Zach Werenski will be alternated with Ottaw Senators’ captain Brady Tkachuk donning the “C”:
The tournament goes from May 10 to May 26.
