Sorokin will make his second straight start on Thursday.

Ilya Sorokin will likely be back between the pipes on Thursday night when the New York Islanders battle the St. Louis Blues to conclude their three-game road trip.

Piero Greco is the Islanders goalie coach, who head coach Patrick Roy told us last year is the one who dictates who starts.

    Here's our story on that:

After missing a week of training camp and all of preseason, the 29-year-old impressed in his first game of the season, stopping 32 of 34 in their 6-2 win against the Colorado Avalanche on Monday.

That includes turning aside 16 of 17 in a busy third period.

With Sorokin coming off back surgery, the Islanders aren't going to go with him in consecutive games if they didn't feel he could, so this decision by head coach Patrick Roy is a positive one for how Sorokin felt after his first game of the season.

In four career games against the Blues, Sorokin owns a 3-1-0 record, with a 2.51 GAA and a .911 SV%.
