
Kyle Palmieri registered a natural hat trick in the first period against the Boston Bruins to give New York a 3-0 lead.
ELMONT, NY -- After two straight wins, the New York Islanders needed to find a way to keep it going against the Boston Bruins on Saturday night.
"It's important to have a good start tonight," Islanders head coach Patrick Roy said Saturday morning.
Kyle Palmieri gave them a good start, alright.
The 33-year-old forward got the Islanders on the board early and often, scoring a natural hat trick in 8:47:
At 3:32 of the first, Palmieri beat Bruins netminder Linus Ullmark under his glove off the rush.
At 5:27 of the first, Palmieri banked home a rebound off a Bo Horvat shot while on the power play to give New York a 2-0 lead:
And for the natural hat trick, Palmieri tapped home a rebound after a Ryan Pulock shot at 12:19 of the first.

With 18 goals on the season, Palmieri has his best goal-scoring season since 2019-20 where he scored 25.
Palmieri's 35 points are the most since recording 45 in 2019-20.
