DJ Duclair is in the building.

DJ Duclair is in the building.

Since Andrew MacDonald was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers on March 4, 2014, Cal Clutterbuck has been the New York Islanders team DJ, per Scott Mayfield.

Clutterbuck held that role for nine years, but now, he's no longer in the locker room playing his favorite beats, which spanned from country to EDM.

He's now putting on a mic and sitting with Shannon Hogan:

Well, someone had to fill the role that Clutterbuck left behind.

"I feel like it's kind of a shared responsibility now," Islanders forward Brock Nelson told The Hockey News. "Now, I think Duke's taken it a bit. The couple of road games we had in preseason, Anders [Lee] had it because Duke wasn't there. Every now and then, we'll get a surprise DJ."

So, we did what we had to do when we found out this information.

We went and talked to Duclair, who said he didn't ask for the DJ job, but he's not afraid to snag that aux cord.

"I guess it was just put on to me," Duclair told THN. "The first preseason game at Madison Square Garden, it was a quiet room. I was just looking around. Nobody was doing anything. So I'm like, f--k it. I'll go ahead.

"And I guess the boys liked it and passed along the message to the second group. I guess I'm stuck with the job."

What kind of music does Duclair like to blast in the room?

"I like to play a lot of hip-hop, rap, and a little afro beats, too," Duclair said. "I'll definitely need to continue to work on the playlist."

But what about the team's beloved "Big Bootie" mixes, courtesy of the DJ duo Two Friends, who DJ'd Ryan Pulock's wedding after-party?

Duclair paused, shook his head, and laughed, saying," Those things are done."

After thanking him for the chat, he walked out of the room, saying, "Those are done," while continuing to shake his head.

Being a DJ is a tough job.

We've all been passed the aux cord at one point or another, and not everyone can handle that pressure.

So far, Duclair has risen to the occasion on the ice, scoring two goals and providing an assist in three games this season.

We'll see if Duclair can rise to the occasion in the room, as he has four seasons to leave his music mark.
