The Islanders have recalled Kyle MacLean.

The New York Islanders have been without Casey Cizikas for the last four games, shuffling lines to fill the void. They are also without Pierre Engvall, who is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, who was injured Monday night.

With an off day on Wednesday ahead of their road-trip finale in Chicago on Friday night after three straight losses, the Islanders have recalled 24-year-old centerman Kyle MacLean from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League.

Cizikas, who is out week-to-week, has been placed on Injured Reserve, per the media site, retroactive to Jan. 9.

MacLean, the son of Islanders power-play coach John MacLean, has six goals and 13 assists in 36 games with Bridgeport this season.

The New Jersey native is in his fourth season with the organization, signing a one-year deal this summer worth $800,000.

MacLean is a strong penalty-killer and a grinder, as he will likely skate alongside Matt Martin and Cal Clutterbuck and take the spot of Bo Horvat on the second shorthanded unit.
