Engvall was recalled on Saturday after not making the team out of training camp.

After playing in the first two games since being recalled from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League, New York Islanders forward Pierre Engvall is a healthy scratch against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old, who is in the second season of a seven-year deal worth $3 million, has gone without a point, taking two penalties—they were not penalties—and averaging 10:27 minutes per night playing on the fourth line.

After his season debut against the Florida Panthers, a 6-3 loss, Roy said the following about No. 18's performance:

"We know what he did for this team the past two years, and I guess Lou thought it was a good moment for him to be back and play."

Then, in the 3-1 loss to the Ducks, Roy had this to say:

"He didn't play a lot. I'm not going on the calls. There's not much to say."

Matt Martin, who signed a one-year deal worth $775,000 (league minimum) and played on Saturday, will be back in the lineup.

We'll see if Engvall gets another crack in the lineup when the Islanders face the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night.
