University of Wisconsin's Quinn Finley and Boston University's Cole Eiserman round out the NCAA's Top 10 scoring leaderboard.
It's been a while since New York Islanders fans could get excited about a prospect, but this year, there's certainly been reason for optimism.
Outside of former 2022 fourth-round pick Isaiah George, who has made it to the NHL and proved to be a tremendous asset just a year after playing his final season in the OHL, there are two collegiate players taking the NCAA by storm this season.
Both Cole Eiserman (2024, No. 20) and Quinn Finley (2020, No. 78) have cracked the NCAA's Top-10 goal list through December 1.
Finley, 20, is in his second year with the University of Wisconsin and is having a breakout season.
After scoring 10 goals with 16 assists in 36 games his freshman year, the Indiana native is on a tear this season with a team-leading nine goals, adding nine assists for a team-leading 18 points in just 14 games.
He also leads his team with a 17.6 shooting percentage.
Eiserman, 18, is off to a tremendous start to his collegiate career with Boston University.
The Massachusetts native was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Month for October after scoring four goals and an assist for five points in five games.
Over his last nine games, he has five goals and three assists, and he has 13 points in 14 games.
The Islanders' prospect pool has been overlooked by many, given the lack of prospect development and not having the "flashy" name.
But Finley and especially Eiserman have Islanders fans excited for the future.
Finley and Wisconsin will be back in action on Dec. 6, when they play Michigan State at 7 PM (Big Ten).
Eiserman and BU host UMass for their Teddy Bear Toss game on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 6 PM ET on ESPN+.
