According to the team's media site, the New York Islanders made their first rounds of cuts on Saturday.

Per the site, all of the team's prospects, such as Matthew Maggio, William Dufour, and Isaiah George, to name a few, including Long-Island native Marshall Warren, look to be on their way to Bridgeport, whose training camp opens early this week.

None of those players need to pass through waivers.

Outside of the NHL regulars, here are the fringe players moving on to the next round: Julien Gauthier, Oliver Wahlstrom, Fredrik Karlstrom, Liam Foudy, Grant Hutton, Dennis Cholowski, and Samuel Bolduc.

All these players would need to pass through waivers.

What this means is that the 13th forward spot is still up for grabs.

Hudson Fasching, who suffered a day-to-day lower-body injury, is expected to be the front-runner if he's healthy.

Matt Martin (PTO) wasn’t listed on roster to begin with so the belief is that he’s still here.

As for Jesse Pulkkinen, Daylan Kuefler and Tristan Lennox still showing on roster, they are hurt.

Regarding the seventh defenseman job, it seems that it's also still up for grabs. Bolduc's held that role for the last year and a half, but Cholowski and Hutton have had solid camps.

The Islanders have yet to officially announce the cuts.

The Islanders host the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday before finishing up their preseason schedule on Friday against the New York Rangers.
