With the 2024-25 NHL season two weeks away, Amazon Prime announced their team for their inaugural Monday Night Hockey broadcast team.
The Canadian broadcast's talent will include New York Islanders alumni and analyst Thomas Hickey.
Hickey retired from hockey and joined the Islanders' MSG Networks broadcast team in 2022.
He consistently sits alongside Shannon Hogan during intermissions but has since done occasional spots on the sidelines and in the booth as a color commentator alongside Brendan Burke.
Hickey can also be seen on occasion as an analyst on NHL Network.
Given his fast rise in the sports media world, he was reported to join the Amazon team in August, along with play-by-play voice John Forslund and fellow NHL veteran Jody Shelley.
However, a full list of on-air talent was released on Monday, with NHLers players Mark Messier and Shane Hnidy joining him. Rounding out the crew are former National Women's Hockey League player Blake Bolden, Hockey Night in Canada host Andi Petrillo, and sports talk host Adnan Virk.
Prime's new broadcast will debut on Oct. 14, as the Montreal Canadiens face the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Conveniently, the Islanders visit the Colorado Avalanche on the same night.
However, the conflicts will be few and far between, with the Islanders having only six Monday games this upcoming season.
As a result, it's unlikely his position at MSG will change.
The Islanders' broadcast team returns to action for preseason hockey against the New Jersey Devils on Friday, while they make their regular season debut on Oct. 10 against the Utah Hockey Club.
