New York Islanders forward Zach Parise is one of the best bang for your buck players in the National Hockey League.
And that's not because he scores goals, but because at the age of 38, he does everything for the Islanders while making a base salary of $750,000, the league minimum.
After scoring 15 goals a season ago, Parise entered Friday night's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets with 19 goals after scoring in three straight.
While it took the Islanders a bit to get going in Columbus, Parise, for the second straight game, got the Islanders on the board as he reached the 20-goal mark for the first time since his final season with the Minnesota Wild, 2019-20, where he scored 25 goals.
Credit to Hudson Fasching, who made a silky play for his eighth assist of the season.
Parise now has goals in four straight games. That's not a career record as Parise, back in 2009-10, scored goals in six consecutive games with the New Jersey Devils.
With 20 goals in an Islandes sweater, Zach Parise and his father, the late J.P. Parise find themselves a part of hockey history as they become the fourth father/son duo to score 20 goals in a season for the same franchise.
J.P. Parise scored more than 20 goals for the Islanders twice during his four-year tenure.
