Despite a 2-1 start, the Ottawa Senators are already dealing with some key injuries.

It didn't take long for the injury bug to reappear in Ottawa.

After just two games, the Senators were already without starting goalie Linus Ullmark and forward Ridly Greig. Then, on Monday against the Los Angeles Kings, Artem Zub joined the list of injured players after taking a hard hit to the head from Tanner Jeannot.

Following Monday's insane 8-7 overtime victory over the Kings, head coach Travis Green addressed the three injuries.

"Yeah, Linus is dealing with a strain. I don't expect it to be too long," Green told the media. "Ridly will be out for a week or two. Zub, we'll continue to evaluate him. Upper body. We'll get back to you on that one."

TSN's Claire Hanna wondered if Ullmark could be ready to play on Thursday at home against the New Jersey Devils.

"Not sure. We'll know more tomorrow," Green replied.

It should be noted that Green mentioned on Sunday that Ullmark missed practice because it was a maintenance day. So, it's hard to know exactly how much stock to put in this new update.

Gaudette will likely continue to fill in for Greig as he did on Monday.

Zub played just four shifts before getting run over by Jeannot. He took a hard hit to the front of his head and then landed on the ice, impacting the back of his head. It was almost a year to the day that Zub suffered a concussion after taking an Alex Ovechkin shot to the ear, which caused him to miss almost a month of action.

If Zub is out, Jacob Bernard-Docker will make his debut on Thursday, and Travis Hamonic will likely move into the top four.

The Sens' lack of depth in goal and on defence makes the Ullmark and Zub injuries troubling. But if these injuries are serious, they could be devastating.
