For those who paid attention to Penguins' goal-scoring prospect Will Horcoff last season, they know he scored at a goal-per-game pace into the month of December for the University of Michigan Wolverines. Then, after scoring 18 goals in 18 games, his production tailed off in the back half of the season - even if not all that drastically - and he finished with 25 goals and 39 points in 40 games.

Well, perhaps his goal-scoring tailed off because, apparently, he sustained a shoulder injury in December and played through it the rest of the season, as he told reporters in Pittsburgh Tuesday.

The 19-year-old had surgery on the shoulder earlier this summer.

Personally, I think it's still pretty impressive that he put up 29 goals and was one point below point-per-game in his first full NCAA season, and his goal-per-game pace happened while he was still 18.

Gotta wonder what this kid is going to do healthy next season.
