For years, fans have been calling the Pittsburgh Penguins the league's "retirement home" due to the average age of their roster, which was top-five for a long time.

Well, that's no longer the case! 

According to NHL Forum on X - via data on Puckpedia - the Penguins are outside the top-10 in terms of average age in the NHL. 

Per Elite Prospects - which takes into account the ages of players by day and month as well as by year - the Penguins are the 11th-oldest team in the league with an average age of 28.85.
