According to Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects, folks shouldn't be sleeping on Pittsburgh Penguins' 19-year-old defensive prospect Harrison Brunicke at the World Junior Championship.
Brunicke has played in nine games at the NHL level this season, and the Penguins loaned him for Team Canada's training camp and the tournament. Even if the young blueliner's game doesn't pop like some others at the WJC, Robinson says, that doesn't mean he won't be playing a huge role.
"Harrison Brunicke isn't going to wow like some other players on Canada, but there's no question he'll be leaned on to do the heavy lifting in the toughest minutes," Robinson writes. "Kids a pro."
Brunicke is currently being iced on Team Canada's second pairing next to Kashawn Aitcheson, who was selected 17th overall by the New York Islanders in 2025. He registered an assist in Canada's pre-tournament 4-2 loss to Sweden on Saturday.
What do you expect from Brunicke the rest of the season? Will he showcase this part of his game at the NHL level?
