The Penguins' prospects showed off some serious skill in the shootout Friday.

The Pittsburgh Penguins took Game 1 of the 2026 Prospect Tournament in Detroit, defeating the Columbus Blue Jackets' prospects, 2-1, in a shootout.
And two of their newest prospects showed off some skill in the shootout.
Defenseman Tomas Galvas and forward Pierce Mbuyi - both drafted this summer by the Penguins - were the scorers in the shootout, with Galvas showing off a nasty backhand deke move, while Mbuyi showed off his shot that pops off his stick.
The Penguins play Sunday at 7:00 p.m. against Detroit and Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. against the Dallas Stars.
