Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby entered the 2024-25 season with 1,004 assists, needing only 29 more to tie Mario Lemieux's franchise record of 1,033 helpers.
On Apr. 11, 2024, Crosby became only the second player in Penguins history to record 1,000 assists. Moreover, on Nov. 23, 2024, he became the second skater to net 600 goals.
As the second-best scorer in Penguins history, Crosby signed a two-year extension to remain with the club through the 2026-27 season, meaning he's got a chance to surpass Lemieux in goals (690) and points (1,723).
