The Pittsburgh Penguins will have even more representation at the IIHF World Championship.
There will be plenty of faces from the Pittsburgh Penguins organization representing their native countries at the upcoming IIHF World Championship.
Just a day after Team USA announced their roster with three current Penguins, Team Canada released their roster featuring defenseman P.O. Joseph.
2022-23 was a breakout year for Joseph; in his first full season at the NHL level he scored five goals and 16 assists for 21 total points.
Joseph was voted as the Penguins’ Rookie of the Year and proved to be one of the best young defensemen in the system.
No other Penguins were listed in Team Canada’s roster announcement and this will be Joseph’s first time representing Canada during international competition.
Joseph compete against Drew O’Connor, Nick Bonino, and Casey DeSmith all members of Team USA, and Alex Nylander on Team Sweden.
The 2023 IIHF World Championship is set to start on May 12 and Canada are early favorites.
