The Pittsburgh Penguins are getting a solid rookie season out of Pierre Olivier Joseph. Kris Letang has been one of the best players on the Pittsburgh Penguins roster since returning from a lower-body injury. The Penguins will have to start their three-game trip in California without Letang on the blue line. The team announced that Letang would be out of the lineup against the Anaheim Ducks due to illness. In his place, the Penguins will deploy Marcus Pettersson and Jeff Petry as the top defensive line. Mark Friedman makes his way into the lineup and will slot in on the second line with Letang’s usual linemate, Brian Dumoulin. Despite no Letang, the Penguins should be able to handle a struggling Ducks squad looking to lose as many games as possible. In 33 games this season, Letang has recorded five goals and 16 assists for 21 points.
