His performance is one of the more pleasant surprises of the first month this season. Rust now has nine goals on the season, a feat that took him 33 games to accomplish last season. He ended the evening with two points (1G-1A) and picked up an assist on what turned out to be the dagger in the Penguins' hopes and winning streak. Bratt stepped up with the game tied at two to push the Devils over the top in the third period. Their defensive structure that helped limit opportunities throughout their five-game win streak was non-existent, leading to several odd-man rushes and high-danger scoring chances." } }, { "type": "paragraph", "data": { "text": "While the defense struggled to keep the net front clean, Jarry struggled heavily in this one.
