Pittsburgh Penguins new President of Hockey Operations Kyle Dubas discusses his desire to hold onto "younger assets" including last years 1st round pick Owen Pickering, and the 14th overall selection in this year's draft. When the Pittsburgh Penguins traded for Dmitry Kulikov at the deadline, he it wasn’t expected he would remain with the team into the 2023-24 season. On the first day of free agency, Kulikov was one of the many faces that departed the Penguins’ organization. Kulikov signed a one-year contract worth $1 million to play with the Florida Panthers. This will be Kulikov’s second stint with the Panthers after they drafted him 14th overall in the 2009 NHL Draft. Kulikov spent the first 460 games of his NHL career with the Panthers where he recorded 138 total points. In just six games with the Penguins, Kulikov recorded a single assist. The Panthers also just signed former Penguins forward Evan Rodrigues to a four-year contract worth $3 million annually.
